Details of our First Aid Courses
First Aid at Work (FAW) - 18 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is the first aid qualification for larger and higher risk places of employment. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training takes place over three days.
First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) - 12 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is the first aid qualification for larger and higher risk places of employment. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training takes place over two days. The shorter requalification course is for people who have previously undertaken a First Aid at Work qualification where the expiry date is not exceeded by more than one calendar month. Please note that we need to see a copy of the previous FAW certificate before the commencement of the course.
NEW - First Aid for Schools and Colleges (FASch) - 12 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid for Schools and Colleges is the first aid training qualification which allows schools and colleges to meet their statutory requirements to care for staff, students and visitors, as laid out in the DfE guidance document "First Aid for Schools, Early Years and Colleges". Please note, it does not meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, but it can easily be combined with PFA to meet those needs as well. It is the obvious first aid training choice for secondary schools as it deals with the management of first aid incidents involving students, unlike FAW, which does not include children. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training takes places over two days.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) - 6 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, is the first aid qualification for low risk places of employment, such as schools, offices, shops etc. In many cases, it negates the need for the longer First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification - please contact us or see the HSE website for further guidance. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training typically takes place in one day or could be completed in two blocks of three hours.
NEW - Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges (EFASch) - 6 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for Schools, is the shorter, emergency only first aid qualification for schools and colleges, covering staff, students and visitors. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training typically takes place in one day or could be completed in two blocks of three hours.
Paediatric First Aid (PFA) - 12 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is the first aid training course which allows child carers to meet the statutory requirements as laid out in the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework. This course also meets the requirements for Millie's Mark. It is the obvious first aid training choice for primary schools as it deals with the management of first aid incidents involving children. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training takes places over two days.
Outdoor First Aid (OFA) - 16 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid is the obvious first aid training choice for those leading groups in the outdoors or who may need to deal with first aid incidents in remote locations. This course meets the requirements of the Institute for Outdoor Learning's "Statement of Good Practice for Outdoor First Aid Training". It will allow for validation of most National Governing Body (NGB) awards, e.g. Mountain Training. Please contact us or the appropriate NGB to find out if it will keep your instructors qualification valid. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training takes place over two days.
Forest School First Aid (FSFA) - 16 hours.
This course is aimed primarily at those who work in a Forest Schools setting, but would also be relevant to others who work with young people in the outdoors, e.g. Scout leaders or those involved in other types of non-remote outdoor learning. This course is accredited by ITC First, an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. The training takes place over two days. We can also offer the ITC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid in conjunction with this course, for a small additional fee.
First Aid for Sport, Exercise & Fitness (FASEF) - 7 hours.
The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid for Sport, Exercise & Fitness course is aimed at PE teachers/coaches/trainers as a minimum to meet their duty of care requirements. It covers both emergency aid in a sporting setting and managing sporting injuries including cease/return to play decisions. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual. The training typically takes place in one day.
