First Aid Training for Business
CLX First Aid are specialists at providing environment specific first aid training. This helps to make our training relevant, using examples and scenarios specific to your workplace, helping your staff to be able to manage first aid incidents that they might realistically have to deal with. The first aid training for business that we offer will help you meet your HSE requirements.
Since 1st January 2017, all the main first aid qualificaitons also cover the practical use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Please note that all first aid certificates have a lifetime of three years and need to be revalidated by further training.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Most workplaces nowadays are considered to be low risk to the people who work there. The Emergency First Aid at Work training is a one day (6 hour) course designed to provide care for employees in low risk places of work or where there are less employees. To see further details, including dates for Emergency First Aid at Work training, see the First Aid Training Dates page.
First Aid at Work (FAW)
Larger workplaces and those who are deemed to be higher risk may still need to have staff who have received First Aid at Work training to meet their HSE requirements. The course runs for 18 hours over three days. For those people renewing their FAW, a two day, 12 hour First Aid at Work Requalification is available, rather than retaking the whole course. To see further details, including dates for First Aid at Work training, see the First Aid Training Dates page.
Basic Skills Refresher
With the changes that were introduced in October 2009, the HSE also introduced the concept of a Basic Skills Refresher course for those first aiders who have passed the FAW or EFAW. This is to be a three hour non-certificated course designed to keep emergency first aid skills up to date. Whilst it is not mandatory, the HSE says that "it is strongly recommended that your first aiders undertake annual refresher training." Please see the HSE guidance for further details. ITC First, the Awarding Organisation that CLX First Aid certifcate with will contact all its clients who to remind them about the Basic Skills Refresher and CLX First Aid will happily provide any training that is required by the employer.
